Building (Structural) Surveys Building Surveys are often termed the "full report", indicative of a comprehensive survey. The building survey is recommended where the age and size of the property render it non-standard.
Similarly, "mixed use" properties such as shop and office or shop and flat, will require a full survey.
For standard residential houses, the terminology of a full survey is sometimes misleading and there are restrictions. For example, it should be noted that tests of internal and external services do not form part of either a full or an intermediate survey. However, should there be some visual, obvious or suspect fault, further investigation by the relevant specialist will be advised.
